Three Noms for 'Filling In' at Hang Onto Your Shorts Film Festival

The Jersey Shore welcomes back Dadley Productions for the 5th annual Hang Onto You Shorts Film Festival where Sarah Hawkins was awarded Best Actress in a Medium Short for Roller Coaster in 2016. This year the popular Asbury Park film fest has accepted Filling In to their two day event and as a nominee in three categories, Best Short (long), Best Actor in a Long Short - Jared Odrick, and Best Director (long), Bradley Hawkins. The Hang Onto Your Shorts Film Fest considers any short film from 20-45 minutes to be considered a long short, and therefore since Filling in is designed as a proof-of-concept for the pilot of a comedy series, its 22 minute running time placed it as a nominee in the long short categories.

According to their website. the founders of the Hang Onto Your Shorts Film Festival declared that "After Hurricane Sandy in 2011, the shore was hit very hard and many people came together to help rebuild the shore. Though many artistic events and film festivals have left the area, we all work in the entertainment industry in some form and all love the art of film making. We want[ed] to bring back film festivals to the Jersey Shore and also celebrate those who are trying to break into the industry..."

Filling in is being screened on Day 1 of the two-day festival on Saturday, April 21st at the Jersey Shore Arts Center in Ocean Grove , NJ as part of Set 3 (3:50-5:50 PM), which includes eight other short films. The festival continues on Sunday, April 22nd at the House of Independents in Asbury Park, NJ with films being screened from 11:00 AM- 8:30 PM with the awards ceremony to follow.
