Holtz Honored at Open World Toronto Film Festival as Best Supporting Actor!
Karl Holtz,who plays the grizzled veteran in his chosen field in Filling In that is longing for retirement, was awarded Best Supporting Actor at the Open World Toronto Film Festival on Sunday, November 19, 2017 in Toronto, Ontario. This pivotal, co-starring role in the comedy-fantasy short was Holtz's debut performance as an actor, and has helped earn him global recognition with this win in Canada, along with his previous wins earlier this year at the Southern Shorts Awards in Georgia, the IndieFest Film Awards and International Independent Film Awards in Los Angeles, and his nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the Sydney Indie Fest in Sydney, Australia.

Along with the win for Best Supporting Actor,Filling In was also nominated at OWTFF in three other categories: Best Actor (Jared Odrick), Best Story & Screenplay (Peter Fenton, Austin Haitos, and Bradley Hawkins) and Best Sound & Music (Tyler Bailey, Jim Casella, Ryan Geesaman, and Clinton Hibshman).
